Extra large antique silver Yemeni prayer scroll. Prayers would have been written and roll up and carried inside the scroll, to bestow blessings and protection on the wearer. Made by the Jewish silversmiths in Yemen
specifically by the Zaydiyah group.
In beautiful antique shape made with high content silver, and tube opens and closes very well. The makers mark is stamped at the top and I can decipher that the silversmith's first name is "Youssef" ~ A real treasure - and very rare. 6 1/4" long.
