This gorgeous piece
is unlike any other bracelet of its age and would make an excellent addition to any serious collector’s collection. This piece is just one of the many incredibly antiques and collectibles that I was able to
source during my trip to Saudi Arabia.
Beautifully handcrafted by Jewish silversmith artisan in Yemen
A significant cultural item, the workmanship is remarkable, the artisan used many of the special motifs, it was made as a bride wealth (dowry).
The material that was used for making up a dowry were the melted down
Maria Theresa Thalers
of the 18th and 19th centuries. It was the standard for quality silver in that era. And was used in trade between Europe and Arabia and Western Asia.
The Jewish silversmiths were removed from Yemen when Israel established and this work is no longer being done in Yemen, so this would be an important addition to your collection .
These pieces is quite old and possibly as old as the late 1800's to early 1900's
This bracelet is not in perfect condition, although this is not surprising for a product of its age and origin. There are some raptures and scratches, however, these can easily be seen in the photographs of the product.
