A Labbeh or Kirdam. A mesh veil which was offered to the bride as wedding adornment and usually worn attached to the headgear veiling the face. It could also be worn as pectoral jewelry.
The mesh labbeh or Kirdam is worn wrapped around the neck or attached to the sides of the headgear hanging down as a frame to women’s chin. Worn by Jewish and Muslim women alike, it is designed with elaborate and extensive filigree and several dangling beads. This type of necklace would have been part of a woman’s dowry given to the bride by her father
